You know immediately the book you are about to read is going to be a gem the instant you discover you agree with the author’s perspective in the first sentences he writes. These kinds of books are intended to complement one’s knowledge.
Here is how Ed Klein, a New York Times reporter, described the real Obama in his book “The Amateur” after interviewing over 200 people some of whom have known Barack Obama intimately for over 20 years.
Bound in dozens of four-inch-thick three-ring notebooks, my transcribed notes run for almost a thousand pages and tell the story of a man who is at bottom temperamentally unsuited to be the chief executive and commander in chief of the United States of America. Here in these interviews we come face to face with something new in American politics—The Amateur—a president who is inept in the arts of management and governance, who doesn’t learn from his mistakes, and who therefore repeats policies that make our economy less robust and our nation less safe. We discover a man who blames all his problems on those with whom he disagrees (“Washington,” “Republicans,” “the media”), who discards old friends and supporters when they are no longer useful (Democrats, African-Americans, Jews), and who is so thin-skinned that he constantly complains about what people say and write about him. We come to know a strange kind of politician, one who derives no joy from the cut and thrust of politics, but who clings to the narcissistic life of the presidency.
The book’s publication date was May 15, 2012 and almost everything that took place on the Syria debacle up to now confirms in spades what Obama’s intimate friends knew about him all along. Too bad the book was not translated into Arabic for Syrians to realize the real Obama could care less about Americans let alone care enough to save them from the butchery of Assad. All the real Obama cares about is himself.
Americans may have finally come to similar conclusions on their own, given the latest polls, without help from the mainstream media, which treated this President like no other in its history pushing him onward in spite of his unbelievable flaws and inexperience. All the scandals, all the egregious intrusions against Obama’s foes, all the incompetency surrounding this real Obama has yet to convince the media to hold him accountable.
Is it possible Valerie Jarrett has her own Edward Snowden on the inside feeding her information to scare Obama’s detractors?
