Israel continues to attack Syrian defenses as its military said it struck an anti-aircraft position that fired on one of its warplanes on Monday. One Syrian soldier died as a result of the attack.
An Israeli military statement said:
Syrian anti-aircraft systems fired at an IDF fighter jet during a routine flight in northern Israel.
Same military source added that all Israeli planes returned to their bases safely. Apparently, the Syrian projectile landed in Israeli territory.
Last year, anti-aircraft fire brought down an Israeli jet returning from an air raid in Syria, prompting a wave of Israeli strikes against other Syrian targets.
Israel has acknowledged carrying out hundreds of strikes in recent years to curtail the influence of its arch-foe Iran and its proxy Hezbollah. Both are fighting in Syria to stem the call for freedom of the Syrian people.
In a video released after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:
Our policy is clear: we are not prepared to tolerate any aggression against us. We will respond forcefully and aggressively.
Israel vowed to dislodge Iran and its arsenal of missiles aimed at its citizenry from Syria. The U.S., under the Trump Administration, has levied some of the heaviest sanctions against the Iranian regime aimed at sparking civil disobedience campaign in Iran that may lead to regime change.
THE STABLE GENIUS
Except that someone forgot to tell President Trump. He, unequivocally, stood by the Iranian regime when he claimed the aim was to negotiate with the Mullahs, not to remove them from power. Any planning by the Iranian people to rise against their tormentors immediately went into reverse.
All the stable genius wants is some dictator to deal with. Putin is out of the question because of the obvious. North Korea just put Trump in his place. All that is left for Trump to show off his skills at negotiating is Iran.
Trump forgets though that the American people know how bad a negotiator he is. On trade wars with China, our President showed us how unskilled he is in the art of the deal. But the stable genius cannot help himself. He wants to negotiate for his own little good.
