Russia sends its troops to Syria directly from annexed Crimea – Ukraine’s intelligence
The bodies of 26 marines of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, killed in Syria, were brought to the Crimean city of Sevastopol on Tuesday, the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported on October 20.
Ukrainian intelligence officers added that the command of Russian Armed Forces cannot ensure normal sanitary conditions for its personnel on the territory of Syria, which results in numerous cases of infectious diseases.
Meanwhile Russia continues its airstrikes in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Homs. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Russian warplanes had killed at least 45 people in the strikes, adding that since Russia began air strikes on September 30, 370 people have been killed, 127 of them civilians including 36 children.
