Syria told the U.N. Security Council on Friday that no one cares more about the Syrian people than the psychopath Baschar al-Assad’s government. This after the United Nations accused rival parties in the five-year conflict of war crimes by starving civilians. When Assad believes West is stupid, he will always fabricate propaganda.
In fact, Assad cares so much, he gassed his own people, tortured tens of thousands. Assad had his Shabeeha thugs rape women, and is ethnically cleaning Syria of all Sunnis. Furthermore, Assad is starving Syria’s civilians, and is killing the rest when hs is not doing the other deeds. There is not one act of violence Assad has not done to harm his people.
The Security Council met to discuss the case of about 180,000 starving Syrian civilians besieged by government forces and about 12,000 in areas controlled by opposition armed groups.
It is the second meeting the council has held on the issue after images emerged of starving civilians in the town of Madaya.
Pro-Syrian government forces as well as Hezbollah have besieged the scenic town.
International relief organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said it has confirmed 35 deaths from starvation in Madaya.
Deputy U.N. aid chief Kyung-Wha Kang told the council:
The primary responsibility for this suffering lies with the party maintaining a siege.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Thursday that Syria’s warring parties, particularly the government, were committing “atrocious acts” and “unconscionable abuses” against civilians.
The civil war was sparked by a Syrian government crackdown on a pro-democracy movement in early 2011. Islamic State militants have used the chaos to seize territory in Syria and Iraq, and some 4.3 million Syrians have fled the country.
The United Nations says at least 250,000 people have been killed, 6.6 million people in Syria have been displaced and 13.5 million need humanitarian assistance.
