Washington, we have a problem in Syria

History is written by historians but bad history is written by those who make it. For a taste of bad history, read what men like John Kerry feel about the atrocities being committed in Syria.

In an interview with CBS “This Morning”, Kerry told the audience in response to the question whether the US should intervene in the conflict “Is that the right thing to do tomorrow or the next day? I think not,”.

Of course, the question itself sets-up this kind of answer because it leaves the issue vague as to what “intervention” means. Between Kerry and CBS, this is like one big bad dream for Syrians fighting for their freedom. It’s like they are all trying to suffocate the Syrian Revolution by telling us “We won’t support you, so stop trying to seek liberty and dignity”.

To justify his support for men of violence, Kerry who is considered one of Assad’s best friends and who has visited with him half a dozen times since 2008, added “..can’t just jump up some morning and say, ‘Let’s go and drop some bombs on Syrian tanks.”

My guess is this is Kerry’s direct response to Senator John McCain’s pressure for direct military intervention by the United States, even though the Syrian opposition, so far, has not asked for US direct intervention but rather to help the Free Syrian Army defend itself by pressuring the Gulf countries to fund and arm the FSA.

In the same interview, Kerry deferred the Syria problem to the will of Russia and China by claiming both countries have provided Assad with “a kind of get-out-of-jail card”. So typical of left wing politicians to throw their hands in the air by blaming anyone but themselves for their actions.

American-Syrians always feared those Democrats who are voted into office because they are “for the little guy” but when that little guy is not a voter, they are as ruthless as the one killing them. Kerry just demonstrated aptly this unique trait so naively accepted by those who vote these people into office. Kerry’s humanitarianism is a “pick-from-the-litter” type with absolutism and opportunism defining its core message.

The Syrian opposition has news for Assad and his good friend Senator Kerry.

“WE WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING ASSAD UNTIL WE FREE OURSELVES FROM HIS TYRANNY. MEANWHILE, WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT HEINZ KETCHUP IS BOYCOTTED IN ALL THE ARAB COUNTRIES”.
